Would You Wednesday: Are We Doing This, Ladies?

Okay, so I pride myself on being pretty good at spotting trends–and folks, I think I’ve found one. Seems to me like the return of the belly shirt is happening once again.

Camilla Belle showed up to the premiere of From Prada To Nada with her belly bare in Jason Wu and I figured it was just a one off. However, not one, but two mega watt music divas have shown off their taught tummies this week in belly baring tops. Rihanna sported one in Sydney and Jennifer Lopez exposed herself in LA (homegirl looks fan-freaking-tastic for 41, no?).

So this is my question: Are we doing this? Will we go ahead and hop on this trend train? I’m cool with it. I like crop tops and I mean, my stomach is probably one of my favorite body parts, but just give me heads up so I lay off the Sour Patch Kids and up the crunches.

The List Volume XXXIX

So, I thought I’d switch things up a little this week. One of my favorite things to do is check Google Analytics to see what exactly people are Googling to land on WhyDid. I’ve compiled a list of this past week’s most interesting and/or popular searches (I promise you I did NOT make these up) and will do my best to answer all queries.

Justin Bieber’s haircut. Here. Don’t ask again.
Do people eat Bump Its. Sweet heavens, I hope not.
What to wear to a coffee date. I’m fairly certain we’ve covered this. You don’t go on a coffee date. Period.
Fishtail braid. Here is WhyDid’s “How To” video for the good ol’ fishtail braid:
How to pee in a one piece romper. Well, when you take on the task of wearing a romper, you’re taking on a lot of responsibility. This includes having to basically strip down nude when going to the ladies’ room. Sorry, kiddos, no shortcut for this one.
Kanye West wearing leggings. I didn’t know about such an incident until I saw this. I presume this is in reference to the ridiculously tight red metallic skinnys he wore during the NBA All Star Game performance.
What is why did you wear that? Um, well, you’re here now. In case you haven’t figured it out, WhyDid is a lifestyle blog dishing out real life advice on fashion, love, food, and fun. Think of WhyDid as the big sister you never had.
Why can’t Jennifer Anniston make a good movie? I laughed out loud at this one. Great question. If anyone has the answer, please let me know. As a matter of fact, you should probably let her know.
Dog cupcakes. Here’s a delightful recipe for dog cupcakes (aka pupcakes). I smell a “How To” video coming…
Did Rihanna have on panties at the Grammy’s? If you look really close. Like really creepy stalker close in this photo you can see the nipple covers as well as the edge of a nude thong. So while she may not have the best fashion sense, she does have enough good sense to cover her hoo ha.

Why Did You Wear That: Minaj A Trois

Looks like someone is gunning for Rihanna’s spot on WhyDid’s Most Wanted list. I couldn’t pick just one fugly outfit courtesy of Miss Nicki Minaj because there were far too many to choose from. So here’s just a sampling of some of her most recent get ups.

I know. She looks insane- and I mean that in the literal sense of the word.

I can’t lie… I actually quite like her as a human (if, in fact, she is one). She’s incredibly charming in interviews and she seems reasonably intelligent. I understand that she is a “spirited” young lady, but I just wish she would try and reel in her wardrobe choices.

In photo number one, I think she may be channeling a piece of chewing gum left to die on the underside of a schooldesk, but I could be wrong. I also have a really, really difficult time with haircolor that could not possibly occur in nature. Like, you’re not fooling anyone, Nickster. The jig is up. By the looks of things, Miss Minaj may have stock in spandex… Perhaps she is smarter than I thought.

Demi Moore in this Balmain dress… I mean, I can’t. She looks insane! Ashton doesn’t look too bad either.
Leighton Meester, always picture perfect in Elie Saab.
Claire Danes proves that simple black is always chic with this Lanvin gown.
Sienna Miller is absolutely stunning in Stella McCartney. Take note, Riri. This is the way nude is done.
Selita Ebanks steps out and shines in this little number. Not sure who she’s wearing, but it’s a hell of a lot better than that bird get up in Kanye’s Runaway “movie.”
Never thought I’d see the day. Here is Rachel Zoe at Lanvin’s Halloween Party looking the way she always should. Glam.
