Sponsored Post: Ford Fiesta Movement

By |November 5th, 2013|Sponsored Post|

Fortunately, I live in a city that is ruled by taxi cabs, subways cars, buses, and the explosively popular Uber becasue not only do I not enjoy driving, I’m not particularly good at it.  Trust me, the world is a much safer place without me behind the wheel.  However, Ford has made driving a whole lot more fun with the new 2014 Ford Fiesta.  With more connectivity and more technology than the average affordable and fuel efficient models on the road, it would be hard not to enjoy sliding behind the wheel of one of these bad boys.  To drive that point home (see what I did there?), the Ford Fiesta Movement was launched.

One hundred agents were carefully selected to hit the road in the new Ford Fiesta to tackle missions entailing everything from visiting People StyleWatch’s fashion closet to surfing in Malibu to singing their hearts out at Bonnaroo.  So, stay tuned as they continue to hit the road to complete more missions in their Ford Fiestas (You can watch all of their videos thus far here).  Watching all the fun behind had by the agents almost makes me want to make use of my driver’s license… almost.  For more tech specs or to build your own head on over here for more information.

Hit the road, Jack- or just join the movement.

Setting the Mood: Getaway From Me

By |May 20th, 2013|Setting the Mood|

Memorial Day is fast approaching… so fast, in fact, that I didn’t even realize it was this weekend.  Guess who doesn’t have plans (yet)?  Who wants to pack me in his/her carry-on?  Anyone?

Well, for the rest of you well-organized individuals it’s time to start packing up and shipping out.  So, should you be heading to Malibu or Miami, your look needs to be beach chic, which basically amounts to looking polished without looking like you tried… not one bit.

The List Volume LXVIII

By |April 6th, 2012|The List|

katy perry leggings cameltoeIt’s no secret that I love checking the crazy things people Google to find WhyDid.  Sometimes they are just simple things like “what to wear to Soho House” or “what to wear to the airport.”  Other times, the topics are a bit more obscure like “hardest nipples in Hollywood” and I have to stop to ask, “You touch your mother with those fingers?”  This week was no different.  As per usual, cameltoe tops the list and you guys really, really love Katy Perry.  Well, I’m here to do what I do best and that is give the people what they want!!  Here’s ten of this week’s more Googled topics:

  1. Can I wear black to a garden wedding.  I mean, you can.  But do you really want to be that morbid girl wearing black at such a joyous event?  Try these for guidelines instead.
  2. White girl weave.  Not only have I worn one, I’ve expressed my great love for them.
  3. Gladstones MalibuLove, love, love this place.  And yes, yes I did go there when in LA a couple of months ago.  bloody mary gladstones
  4. Kirsten Smith Maxim.  As it turns out, I might have made an appearance.  If you can find it, congratulations.  You’ve got too much time on your hands.
  5. How to do a top knot.  I love a good top knot.  Here’s a step by step tutorial… but I think I’m going to have to make a video soon.top knot
  6. Celebrities wearing sneakers.  Everyone from Ann Hathaway to Alessandra Ambrosio was seen sporting stylish sneaks.
  7. Kerastase Cristalliste.  There has been so much interest in this line.  Stay tuned for a veeeery exciting contest…
  8. Girl wearing glasses.  I guess people really dig girls who wear glasses.  Just please don’t be one of those people who wears fake ones… girl wearing glasses
  9. Chalking hair.  Did a little tutorial on that.  I might add spraying hair with hairspray to set color as well. chalk hair
  10. Explanation why you stupid.  I got nothing.

The search continues.

Why Did You Eat That: Malibu Brunch

By |November 8th, 2010|Los Angeles, Why Did You Eat That?|

A couple of Sunday’s ago, I spent the day exactly how every Sunday should always be spent: with a Bloody Mary overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Le fiance wanted to take me somewhere to celebrate a month of engagement and Gladstone’s Malibu couldn’t have been a more perfect choice. The weather was perfect, so the drive to Malibu alone, was pleasant, but after valeting, our view only got better.

We were seated at a table outside overlooking the sand and the surf. There is an indoor section, though, I’m not sure why you’d bother… Our waitress asked if we were visiting, so I assume this must be a bit of a tourist stop, but I can’t imagine a local Angeleno not taking advantage of this beautiful locale. Anyway, we immediately ordered two Bloody Mary’s, clam chowder, and crab cakes. Each of which was more delicious than the next. They also brought us a monstrous hunk of fresh sourdough bread. Quite honestly, we didn’t really need to bother ordering anymore food, but like true gluttons, we ordered the fried fish sandwich (I’d pass) and the spiced crusted tuna (a must).

We certainly over ordered, but everything was delicious… and being stuffed is the perfect time for a sun nap on the beach…

Beauty Buzz: A Day at the Beach

By |July 19th, 2010|Beauty Buzz|

products_malibu_barbie_375As we cruised down the PCH on our way to spend the afternoon in the sun in Malibu, it occurred to me that packing for a day at the beach is no “day at the beach.”

There is a lot of preparation that needs to be done before you spend the rest of the day lounging and laughing. From shaving and exfoliating all the right places to making sure you didn’t leave something behind, here’s a quick checklist to have you on the road in no time!

  • Sunscreen– I would recommend at least SPF 30 for a full day of fun and sun. Don’t forget to reapply after frolicking in the surf. No one wants to spend Monday morning lubing up in aloe.
  • The Essentials– No need to cover yourself in product, but be sure to smooth on some nourishing lotion like Kiehl’s. Lipgloss and mascara (waterproof) add a little polish to your face. Don’t forget your sunglasses and hat to guard yourself from crow’s feet and excessive sun exposure to your money maker.
  • Extra pair of pantalones– Sitting around in a wet bathing suit is bad for your little girl down below. Be sure to pack some extra underwear to slip into when you’re done with the waves. You’ll thank me later.
  • Sweater– When the sun goes down, so do the temperatures and just in case you haven’t secured a cutie to keep you warm, you’re going to want to throw on something cozy.
  • Camera– You don’t want to forget those fun memories spent by the sea. Who doesn’t love tagging themselves on Facebook so everyone will be super jeal of your fab weekend?
  • Host/hostess gift– It’s always in good taste to bring a little somethin’ somethin’ for your host. I brought wine and bubbles. I don’t see why not.

Packing right is a surefire way to make sure you can ride off into the sunset without a care in the world.
