So, it’s Sunday… meaning this is technically the last bit of the “weekend,” but let’s be serious.  The stretch between Christmas and New Year’s is like one extended booze fueled, stay in your pajamas til 2pm and mom’s cooking weekend (not that that’s what I’m doing or anything).  Tomorrow is a little something called “New Year’s Eve” and the only thing more important than securing a midnight kiss and not running out of champagne is crafting the most perfect playlist.  The trick to a playlist is covering all your bases.  You don’t want to play what could be listened to on your local Top 40 station, but including a few “club bangers” so that white girls will be heard world round squealing to misogynistic rap lyrics is clutch.  Then you’ve got to toss in a few of those ironic throwbacks for all the “bruhs” to fist bump to when they recognize the intro.  Sprinkle a couple of classics in there to make grandma happy and you, my friend, have the ultimate party playlist.

Welp, I guess we’re not wearing pants anymore.  Here’s the lovely Erin Heatherton at Bergdorf’s 111th Anniversary party… wearing (or not wearing) a Jason Wu creation (he’s pictured here with her).

Earlier this week, I posted this photo of Lea Michele on WhyDid’s Facebook page.  Also not wearing pants.  And earlier this year, the beautiful Beyonce was also seen wearing a pantless wonder at the Met Gala.  So, is this a thing now?  If so, I’ll dust off my leotards right now.  I’ve been looking for a good reason for a bikini wax.  You think Lady Gaga is laughing somewhere?  I mean, she started it.

Nail art has fast become a girl’s way of expressing herself on the cheap.  Well, cheaper than a closet full of Lanvin.  Long gone are the days of the mundane Ballet Slippers and neutral nail.  We’ve graduate from glitter to full blown graphic designs.  But what happens when things go a little too far… as in too far from your cuticle?

Celebrities from Beyonce to Fergie have been seen with nails that resemble those of Lee Press On’s gone rogue.  I was just hoping this would be one of those trends that catches on like wildfire in a rainstorm.  Sadly, it’s only gotten more popular and I’ve seen more than a few fashionistas walking around with sharpened claws.  As a matter of fact, the other day I saw a young lady with nails so long she could have retired her utensils and just speared her steak with her fingernails.  Better yet, they probably could have used her assistance back in the kitchen.  Here’s to hoping she doesn’t wear contact lenses and has an iPhone with Siri to transcribe her text messages.

Listen, I’m all for funky phalanges, but I’m worried girls are catty enough without claws.  What do you think of this extended trend?
