I told you guys it was happening… and we are getting closer and closer to WhyDid’s 500th post!

I’ve only received a few pictures of you in your favorite outfits (very disappointing), so I’ve sweetened the pot and stiffened the competition. Here’s how it’s going down:

  1. You guys are going to send me a picture of you in your very favorite most WhyDid worthy outfit along with your name and the city you live in.
  2. The top three outfits will be chosen and featured on WhyDid’s 500th post.
  3. WhyDid readers will vote on their favorite outfit.
  4. Winner will receive an iPod nano!!

WhyDid shouldn’t be the only one celebrating!

Now… SEND ME YOUR PICTURES!! You’ve got two weeks to get them to me (deadline is November 22, 2010).

Would You Wednesday: My Humps

By |November 10th, 2010|Why Did or Why Don't?|

Recently, the lovely Miranda Kerr bared it all for W Magazine showcasing her baby bump. There is no doubt that Miranda is absolutely gorgeous, but is this really how all those hot blooded males wanted to see her nude? Talk about a buzz kill! We all remember the first daring diva to strip down her pregnant body for a magazine:

The also stunning Demi Moore bared her bump for Vanity Fair. So, here’s the dilemma… is showing off our childbearing belly cool or uncouth? I can’t decide whether it’s a beautiful tribute to motherhood or just TMI. What do you think?

Lovely lady lumps.

Why Did You Wear That: The Long and Short of It

By |November 9th, 2010|Personal Style, Why Did You Wear That?|

It’s getting cold out there and as  much as I love a teeny tiny skirt and boots, I’m really loving this maxi skirt trend that hit the runways.  Talk about an total alternative to leggings! Pull on a long skirt with a cute top or sweater (layer tights underneath for extra warmth) and you are not only looking totally in style and up to date, but also completely comfortable and chic. Some maxi skirts to try:

Rick Owens Lilies Jersey Maxi Skirt, $695

Richard Chai Love Tube Skirt, $265

Rachel Pally Ribbed Long Full Skirt, $185

LnA Column Skirt, $99

Anthropologie Tumbler Maxi Skirt, $78

Sparkle and Fade Long Knit Skirt, $49

Monday Mashup: Now I Get It

By |November 8th, 2010|Monday Mashup|

I mean… I hate to play into the whole “conspiracy theory” thing… but this one is a little too obvious to ignore.I think these pictures will serve as as much proof needed:

Here’s Katy Perry chillin with “Elmo” on the set of Sesame Street.

Here’s Katy hanging poolside with bestie, Rihanna…

Coincidence? I think not…

Why Did You Eat That: Malibu Brunch

By |November 8th, 2010|Los Angeles, Why Did You Eat That?|

A couple of Sunday’s ago, I spent the day exactly how every Sunday should always be spent: with a Bloody Mary overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Le fiance wanted to take me somewhere to celebrate a month of engagement and Gladstone’s Malibu couldn’t have been a more perfect choice. The weather was perfect, so the drive to Malibu alone, was pleasant, but after valeting, our view only got better.

We were seated at a table outside overlooking the sand and the surf. There is an indoor section, though, I’m not sure why you’d bother… Our waitress asked if we were visiting, so I assume this must be a bit of a tourist stop, but I can’t imagine a local Angeleno not taking advantage of this beautiful locale. Anyway, we immediately ordered two Bloody Mary’s, clam chowder, and crab cakes. Each of which was more delicious than the next. They also brought us a monstrous hunk of fresh sourdough bread. Quite honestly, we didn’t really need to bother ordering anymore food, but like true gluttons, we ordered the fried fish sandwich (I’d pass) and the spiced crusted tuna (a must).

We certainly over ordered, but everything was delicious… and being stuffed is the perfect time for a sun nap on the beach…

Brunch is always a tricky time to get dressed. You want to look casual without looking hungover or sloppy. (Check out my old “brunch attire” tips). For a lovely Sunday by the beach, it’s all about layering:

3.1 Phillip Lim Asymmetrical Draped T Dress, $350

Chloe Wayfarer, $240.95

Splendid Lofty Cashmere Professor Cardigan, $278

Comme des Garcons Low Top Canvas Sneaker, $100
