Beuty Buzz: Top 5 Beauty ‘Do’s

By |November 13th, 2010|Beauty Buzz, Celebrity Style|

Rather than get monotonous, let’s take a look at this week’s most stunning ‘do’s that were DO’s. Sometimes a perfectly beautiful dress can be ruined by scraggly strands, but these ladies are polished from head to toe!

  1. January Jones sporting a sleek top knot (and a sexy back dress!) at a fundraiser in London.
  2. Lauren Conrad looks lovely at the VH1 Save the Music Foundation Gala with a sweet side knot.
  3. Kate Hudson at the Glamour Women of The Year Awards sporting some very classic Hollywood curls.
  4. Gwyneth Paltrow with a smokey eye and sleek locks at the premiere of her new movie, Country Strong.
  5. Elle Fanning looks super sweet wearing straight tresses with a embellished headband at the premiere of The Nutcracker 3D.

The List Volume XXVII

By |November 12th, 2010|The List|

Have no fear, people. I will never let you down with the list. This week is a dedicated edition to break ups. They are hard, we know. Here are the ten things you need to do IMMEDIATELY upon breaking up to avoid any prolonging of pain for either party:

  1. Change relationship status on Facebook.
  2. Unfriend on Facebook/Unfollow on Twitter. You may as well do this while having the break up talk.
  3. Untag all pictures of the two of you looking blissful.
  4. Unfriend any of his/her friends that came as part of the package deal.
  5. Delete all electronic evidence of a former relationship: pictures, emails, voicemails, text messages, phone number, etc.
  6. Delete all physical evidence of a former relationship: clothing, beauty products, cards, letters, pictures, “mementos”, hair ties, etc.
  7. Cancel any pending plans: trips, plane tickets, outings.
  8. Return anything of value that may have been left as residual (COD, of course).
  9. If breakup is particularly ugly or protracted, implement blocks on Facebook, Twitter, phone, email.
  10. Remember there was a reason (or many) you took steps 1-9. Don’t look back.

Enjoy being single!

Why Did You Wear That: Victoria’s Ugly Secret

By |November 12th, 2010|Celebrity Style|

As many of you are well aware, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show took place earlier this week.  Um, I can’t say I’m not a little bit taken aback. Since when did Victoria’s Secret start catering to butch lesbians? I mean, I’m going to need to go ahead and ask, “Who’s in charge here?” Can’t help but think that perhaps the creative director is an angry old maid living alone with her cats who decided that she wanted to make some of the most beautiful women in the world look like assholes.

To be clear, I am not by any means suggesting that Karolina Kurkova herself is “fugly.” That isn’t even in the realm of possibility, but this? What the hell is she? A “racecar driver”?  Trashy Lingerie does a better job of making slutty Halloween outfits, so let’s just leave it to the pros, okay? When can we get back to diamond encrusted brasieres and sparkly g-strings?

Beauty Buzz: Five Minute Face

By |November 11th, 2010|Beauty Buzz|

Seeing as most of us are not movie stars or celebrities, there is no need to walk around with a cake face of perfect makeup on a daily basis. However, there is also no need to look like a walking zombie. To arrive at a happy  medium, follow these five easy steps with five fantastic products that will have you fresh faced and out the door in five minutes.

  1. After cleansing your face and applying your favorite moisturizer, it’s time to smooth out any flaws (as if you have any!). A tinted moisturizer or a mineral powder to cover up shine are great options.Philosophy The Supernatural Airbrushed Canvas SPF 15, $35
  2. Once you’re all smooth and seamless, it’s times to add a little color to those cheeks. My favorites still remain Benefit Benetint ($28) and Nars The Multiple in Orgasm . Nars The Multiple in Orgasm, $38
  3. Now that you’re glowing, it’s time to focus on your beautiful peepers. Added bonus of Nars The Multiple? It can be used on your lids! Once you’ve smoothed some color onto your lids, it’s time to define your brows. Revlon ColorStay Brow Enhancer, $8.99
  4. Finish off your eyes by brushing on a coat of  your favorite mascara. Dior Show is a tried and true.
Dior Dior Show Blackout Mascara, $24
  5. Last, but most definitely not least, pucker up. (Bonus time: Benetint can also be used on your lips for a berry stained pout). Slick on your favorite gloss and you’re good to go!

Fusion Beauty LipFusion Lip Plumper, $38

Ciao, bella!
