Women aren’t the only ones who have beauty routines as we can attest by the currently popurlar man buns (aka “muns”). Along with stealing our rubberbands from the backs of bathroom door handles, men have begun encroaching upon our conditioner, our face wash, and even our razors. When you share space with a man, you start to share everything and sometimes the lines become blurred– and not in a sexy Emily Ratajkowski kind of way. Most women allot a pretty penny and significant portion of their paychecks to special beauty products meant to preserve them and cure all their beauty woes. When your beau starts lathering up with your $60 ant-aging face wash, it can become difficult not to want to dunk him in the tub, but part of you is probably happy that he’s at least decided to shower today. Male grooming has become more socially acceptable and that can be seen by the wide range of products targeted specifically to the male species. There was a time when seeing a man in a nail salon was a rarity, but let’s be serious. Real men get manicures (and hopefully an occasional pedicure). I, personally, don’t want your gnarly feet shredding my 1200 thread count sheets. If you’ve come to the horrifying realization that your man has been using your prized eye cream to soften his calluses, it’s time to set him up with his very own collection of dude friendly grooming products.

Gift Guide: Who’s Your Daddy?

We spend an awful lot of time shopping for ourselves and perusing available goods online- something I like to refer to as “market research.” We know exactly when the next Kenzo collection drops down to the date and we can recite each color by name that the Balenciaga Velo is available in. And while most dads are just thankful to be thought of (mom’s the one who always gets all the credit, afterall), remember to choose wisely because he knows exactly how much you spent on those engraved beer steins and he thinks it’s absolutely ridiculous. And no, he doesn’t want another f&^#ing tie.

Not only is Father’s Day a great day to indulge dad in something that he’s been eyeing at Home Depot, it’s also an opportune time to replace his ratty socks, holey undershirts (which I take for myself), and embarrassing choices in footwear. I may very well be purchasing the polar bear trunks from Vilebrequin for Dick, seeing as I have a childhood memory of his Speedo always going missing and my mom not having the slightest clue where it might have gone. Must be like disappearing socks in the dryer. Whether pops is sporty, handy, or a classic Don Draper, now’s the time to show your appreciation for those braces and his breadwinning.

Gift Guide: Oh, Man. Another Gift Guide.

It is with great relief that the only men in my life that I have to worry about this holiday season are my brothers, my father, Smitty, and a handful of guy friends (by handful, I mean like three). Luckily for me, most of them will be perfectly content with a simple well wish and maybe a bottle of Fireball (talking to you, Andy Smith). And it’s a good thing I am single this year, because not only would I not be able to afford a thing after Smitty’s most recent trip to the vet (more on that later), but it would appear by my selections below that I’d be dating a cross between Don Draper and Al Borland… which actually would be an upgrade from some of my exes who probably would have been happy with hand mirrors, toy helicopters, and a vat of Scotch large enough to drown in.
