WhyDid Weekend: A Day in Monterey
Written by: WhyDid YouWearThat | Uncategorized

About a five hour drive north of Los Angeles is a magical place called Monterey.  A laid back beach town complete with its very own (small scale) Fishmerman’s Wharf.  You may not have any good reason to go there, but luckily, I do.  My father has lived there for the past ten years and even when I lived clear across the country in New York, I still managed to get there to visit.  Being there always feels like a vacation.  Not the type of vacation that calls for tropical cocktails with umbrellas on the beach and a teeny bikini, but you always leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.  The sheer beauty of Monterey is enough to leave you speechless.

This past weekend, we once again made the trek and here are some snapshots of our journey.

Thank You.
Written by: WhyDid YouWearThat | Uncategorized

Okay, so someone learned how to use Photoshop. Yes, this looks like a collage a la 9th grade, but I just wanted to thank all of the very special people in my life who have always made my birthday (and everyday) so very special for me.  I love and appreciate you all. Thank you for being a part of my special day and part of my life!

Would You Wednesday: To Regift or Not To Regift?
Written by: WhyDid YouWearThat | Uncategorized

Speaking of gifts, what do you do when on the receiving end of a horrible gift from a friend or loved one?  I mean… it is the thought that counts… right? I have received some pretty horrific gifts and I must say, it’t pretty disappointing when the tissue paper is peeled away to reveal something utterly revolting. Do you have to fake smile and tell them you love it (only to pass it along like a hot potato)? Do you ask for the gift receipt? Do you keep it and attempt to use it/wear it? Or do you sever ties with the horrible gift giver… because they clearly don’t know you at all?

So is regifting okay?

Written by: WhyDid YouWearThat | Uncategorized

I want to thank everyone who submitted their beautiful mugs for WhyDid’s 500th post and everyone else for voting on their favorite outfit. The contest was a great success and I’d like to congratulate Elizabeth from New York City for being our winner with more than 40% of the votes!  She will be jamming out to her brand new iPod nano shortly!

Lookin’ good, Elizabeth! Here’s to more good things coming your way!

I’m on Vacation… Except Not Really
Written by: WhyDid YouWearThat | Uncategorized

So, as you may have noticed, WhyDid has just reached a landmark of both 500 posts along with a second birthday. While it may appear that I partied too hard in celebration of such momentous events and didn’t bother posting today due to the hangover from said partying… you’d be wrong. I just decided to take a miniature mental vacation. After spending the past five days in Monterey visiting family and spending quality Thanksgiving family time, my head hurts. I also think I’m getting sick. Hey, it’s cold up there!

Couple that with trying to pick a wedding date/venue, arrange a trip to NY to capture my dream dress/move out of my apartment there, juggle family Christmas time, and plan a festive New Year’s Ever. My brain is fried. Do you know how mentally strenuous trying to arrange friends and estranged family members into a cohesive seating chart is? Wedding planning is hard work, folks!

So, while I lay in bed today, eating pasta, collecting bed sores, and discussing how thin Marisa Miller is, I decided that I did not, in fact, feel like writing a blog post let alone, actually getting out of bed today other than to retrieve Sour Patch Kids and cranberry juice.  It also became abundantly clear, that if I were to be an animal, it would most likely be a three toed sloth. I’ve been told I “lack a sense of urgency” so that sounds about right.

Anyway, this week is just going to have to be a day behind. I’m moving at a sloth’s pace and it feels great. So, sit tight, and we’ll be back to the regularly scheduled program shortly. In the meantime, do not forget to vote for WhyDid’s favorite outfit winner:
