Why Did You Wear That: Trail Blazers

By |November 13th, 2011|Look for Less, Why Did You Wear That?|

You may only associate the blazer as a piece of clothing worn by uptight businessmen and those ladies who wear white sneakers on their commute to work, but I’d like to let you in on a little style secret.  The blazer is far less boring and uptight than you think it is.  As a matter of fact, a blazer can go great for a laid back weekend running errands or a night out on the town with your girlfriends.  Check out how Heidi, Miranda, and Blake all incorporated this style staple into their wardrobes this week:

1. Forever 21 Open Front Blazer, $28.90, 2. Genetic Denim The Shane Skinny Jeans, $69.74, 3. Charlotte Russe Raised Knit Beret, $9.50, 4. bebe 2b Multicolor Zebra Scarf, $15.95, 5. Nike Air Jordan Alpha 1 iD

1. BCBG Black Woven Stretch Kana Boyfriend Blazer, $125, 2. American Apparel Unisex Fine Jersey Short Sleeve T-shirt, $18, 3. Free People Rocker Vegan Leather Shorts, $98, 4. Forever 21 Sunglasses, $5.80, 5. The Limited Sheer Tights, $16.90, 6. BCBG Falla Buckle Ankle Boots, $142.49

1. Forever 21 Cropped Front Drape Blazer, $29.80, 2. Charlotte Russe Mesh Cutout Bodycon Dress, $29.99, 3. Kate Spade Mint Julep Ring, $78, 4. Topshop Black 120 Denier Opaque Tights, $16, 5. Vince Camuto Jordy Bootie, $139

Time to take the blazer from the cubicle to the cluuuuuurb.

Look for Less: Leather Weather

By |October 2nd, 2011|Look for Less, Why Did You Wear That?|

So maybe you’re not the “skin”tight leather dress kinda girl.  That’s okay, cause you can still incorporate leather into your life in a more casual, less Catwoman way.  From Paris to LA, celebrities have been seen sporting their second skins all over town.  While the look is undoubtedly sexy, it can be expensive.  You can check this out blog for the best leather history related blog.  That’s why there are some great faux leather (or “vegan” as we’re calling it now- tomato, tomato) options out there.  This is one time when it’s okay to fake the funk.

1. Rachel Zoe Bianca Sequin Top, $275, 2. Top Shop Faux Leather Skinny Trousers, $66, 3. MICHAEL Michael Kors Sloan Oversized Clutch, $248, 4. Blu Bijoux Gold Tear Drop Multi Strand Earrings, $46, 5. La Fenice Eden Suede Platform Booties, $175

1. J. Crew Burnout Linen T-Shirt, $35, 2. Express (Minus the) Leather Seamed Mini Skirt, $59.90, 3. Forever21 Oval Sunglasses, $5.80, 4. Top Shop Mixed Fabric Chain Bag, $56, 5. Ash Hidden Platform Leather Pump, $195

1. Vince Hi Lo Sweater, $159.99, 2. Karl Lagerfeld for Impulse Skinny Faux Leather Pants, $99, 3. Cara Leather and Metal Cuff, $31.90, 4. Kelsi Dagger Teya Studded Platform Pumps, $149

P.S. Might I point out that both pairs of  “leather” pants on here are not leggings.  Please do not go strutting around town in pleather leggings without a top long enough to cover your v-dot.

Would You Wednesday: My Humps

By |November 10th, 2010|Why Did or Why Don't?|

Recently, the lovely Miranda Kerr bared it all for W Magazine showcasing her baby bump. There is no doubt that Miranda is absolutely gorgeous, but is this really how all those hot blooded males wanted to see her nude? Talk about a buzz kill! We all remember the first daring diva to strip down her pregnant body for a magazine:

The also stunning Demi Moore bared her bump for Vanity Fair. So, here’s the dilemma… is showing off our childbearing belly cool or uncouth? I can’t decide whether it’s a beautiful tribute to motherhood or just TMI. What do you think?

Lovely lady lumps.
