How To Tuesday: Fake It Til You Make It

fake eyelashes1. Ardell Lash Grip Eyelash Adhesive, $4.99, 2. Japonesque Slant Volume Eyelashes, $8, 3.Tweezerman Mini Slant Tweezers, $12.50, 4. Benefit They’re Real! Mascara, $23, 5. NARS Eyelash Curler, $20, 6. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Oil Slick, $19

You know that one beauty product you can’t leave home without?  I would say mine is probably mascara… or Benetint.  But I would be willing to bet that the majority of you ladies are probably with me on the mascara tip.  So, what happens when you need to take it up a notch and really knock ‘em dead, but your everyday mascara just isn’t cutting it?  Well, that’s where fake eyelashes come in.  Perhaps you only think of wearing falsies during Halloween or a Broadway production, but you’d be surprised to find out just how many celebrities and regular ol’ gals are sporting lash enhancements on a very regular basis.  To be quite honest, I don’t often don false lashes because they make my eyelids heavy (I guess they need to hit the gym) and we all know that I can be a bit of a narcoleptic, so my lids don’t need any encouragement to shut.  However, I do love the look.  So below, find my tips and tricks on how to apply fake lashes without a fuss:

Time for your feedback…

Beauty Buzz: Prime Time
Written by: admin | Beauty Buzz

smeared makeupA crucial step you may be missing (as was I for the majority of my makeup wearing life) is something that happens before the rouge, before the mascara, and even before your foundation.  This very imperative, but often neglected step is the application of a little something called primer.  Primer should be applied the moment you are done moisturizing so as to “lock” in your moisturizer and create the smoothest “canvas” possible.  I know, I know.  It’s starting to get steamy outside, so the last thing you feel like doing is adding another layer to your fabulous face.  You’ve worked awfully hard getting that face painted to perfection, so applying a primer to prevent your face from melting off seems like a worthy cause, no?  And here’s the best part: many primers have added benefits like built in SPF or anti-aging ingredients.

best makeup primers1. Cover FX Skinprep FX Nourishing Foundation Primer & Anti-Aging Serum, 2.Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, 3. NARS Pro-Prime Multi Protect Primer, SPF 30, 4. Amazing Cosmetics Anti Aging Face Primer, 5. Murad Hybrids Skin Perfecting Primer Matte Finish

You’re in your prime, lady.

Alright, so the man has warranted more than just a drink at the Standard before you move on and meet up with your friends (in hopes of meeting someone better).  Lucky dog!  Your relationship is probably past a peck on the lips, but perhaps nothing too intimate has occurred…yet.  So, he should be aware that you are worthy of far more than the run of the mill red and mundane roses or -gasp- carnations.  There is a very fine line between tasteful and trite.  Let’s help him out in the gift giving department… I mean, he was doing so well…

Gift Guide: Beauty Buff
Written by: WhyDid | Gifts

I don’t know a girl who doesn’t love receiving something not only beautiful, but also beautifying.  While we’ve outgrown the ol’ Bath & Body Works gift sets, it’s still wonderful to give (and receive!) the gift of beauty.  I could have listed a hundred products that would make more than stellar gifts, but I have whittled it down to ten as to not overwhelm you.  Maybe these gifts didn’t tickle your fancy, but they did get you thinking about buying someone special something from the beauty department.  Here are a few tips to keep in mind while shopping:

  1. Don’t give something offensive like a waxing kit (even if she does have a hairy upper lip).
  2. Perfume is way too personal (unless recipient has told you EXACTLY which fragrance she’s wishing for).
  3.  When in doubt, go for something with lots of options, like a kit where she can mix and match to make the perfect shade.

1. Bliss Glow Ho Ho Gift Set, $75, 2. Fresh Sake Ritual Bath Set, $95, 3. Laura Mercier Creme Brulee Trio, $60, 4. Philosophy Holiday Bundle Ornament Set, $15, 5. NARS Kudoki Kabuki Lip Set, $125, 6.  Urban Decay 24/7 Travel Size Pencil Set, $32, 7. Red Carpet Manicure Starter Kit with Portable Light, $59.99, 8. NARS Kuroko Kabuki Mini Nail Polish Coffret, $359. Benefit I’m Glam Therefore I Am Gift Set, $36, 10. Estee Lauder Good Fortune Compact, $125
