Weekend Playlist: I Like to Move It Move It

By |October 15th, 2011|Weekend Playlist|

The winds have turned and brought that chilly air that signals “So long, summer” and it’s now dark outside before 7pm.  It’d be pretty easy to channel your inner groundhog (do you know that they just beef up and sleep all winter?) and just give up on yourself.  I mean, afterall, it’s so cold you probably won’t be wearing any short shorts or minis (let alone shaving your legs) for the next five or so months.  Might as well just pack on the pounds and use your new blubber for insulation, right?  No.  Just stop it.  There’s no time like now to kick your workout into full gear and one of the easiest ways to stay on track is by updating your workout playlist.  Here’s one that I’ve been using for mine and will hopefully keep your body moving as well.

A good rule of thumb?  Always be ready to be in a bikini at a moment’s notice. You never know when you might need a mid-winter escape to the Caribbean.

Weekend Playlist: Turtle Dance Party

By |July 9th, 2011|Weekend Playlist|

Yes, this playlist is called Turtle Dance Party.  Yes, that is also how it is saved in my iTunes.  No, we won’t get into that nickname today.  All you need to know is that this playlist will make even the slowest of turtles wanna come out of his shell.

For the last several weeks this is all I have listened to on the train, during my workouts, painting my nails…. cause my USB cords just keep magically disappearing preventing me from creating anything new… Who am I kidding?  I love this mix.

Weekend Playlist: Easy, Breezy, Beautiful

By |April 9th, 2011|Weekend Playlist|

The past few weekends (not to mention weeks) have been insanely hectic.  So, this weekend, I’m beyond thrilled to be taking it easy and doing a whole lot of nothing.  The weather is getting nicer (not nice, but nicer) and we have a beautiful back/side/front/court yard to gaze at.  Basically, we are surrounded by green and beautiful smelling flowers.  It’s like living in my own childhood dream of The Secret Garden (more on that later).  Anyway, what’s better than opening up the doors and letting a little fresh air in and just relaxing with friends and good music?  Okay, maybe a glass of sangria.

  1. Broken Bells– October
  2. Modest Mouse– Ocean Breathes Salty
  3. Santigold– Shove It
  4. Jason Collett– Lake Superior
