Why Did You Wear That: Suits, No Ties.

By |April 4th, 2013|Why Did You Wear That?|

You know what I love almost as much/more/I can’t decide than lingerie?  Swimsuits.  Know why?  ‘Cause it’s like underwear that you can wear in public.  Who doesn’t like beating the heat poolside wearing a barely there fashion statement?  And why else have you been going to the gym?  Oh right, for cardiovascular health, of course. Whatever, you totally do it to counterbalance those Girl Scout cookies.  You’re not fooling anyone.   Not that it matters because swimsuit season is upon us and you’re just going to have to come to terms with that.

This season’s swimwear is strongly reflective of spring trends. Colorblocking, graphic black and white, midriff tops, fringe, and cutouts are all staples for the catwalk as well as the boardwalk.  And while I still stand firm that less is more when it comes to bikini bottom coverage, there are cuts and shapes for all body types.

Friday Frocks: Skin in the Game

By |August 31st, 2012|Friday Frocks, Why Did You Wear That?|

leather dressIn case you didn’t get the memo last fall, you’re going to need a leather dress come this autumn.  The ultimate update to your standard LBD, leather will not only keep you warm thermostatically speaking, but will also have you looking hot literally speaking.  Should you opt to go all in, a leather shift is a fantastic transitional piece that can eventually be layered over a turtleneck and tights.  Feeling more modest?  Opt for a frock with leather details or panels to achieve the same leather look.

I’m a huge fan of basically leather anything and have been pushing the trend since I was sixteen.  I wore a leather dress to my sophomore year homecoming… and while that went over like a lead balloon with teachers and students alike, this season’s must have frock is sure to be a bigger hit with your classmates.

Friday Frocks: Second Skin

By |September 30th, 2011|Friday Frocks, Why Did You Wear That?|

There’s been plenty of buzz in regards to Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman costume for the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises film… and judging by this photo, I can see why.  Anne looks pretty sexual.  The funny thing is, there’s not much skin showing.  The only skin that is showing is that of her leather catsuit.  Throughout time we’ve seen that if you stick a woman in some skin tight leather, you’ve immediately got yourself a bombshell.  There is just something about black leather that can make even the most demure damn suddenly sexy.
