How To Tuesday: Who Wears Short Shorts?

DIY denim cut offsIt makes sense that this week’s episode is focused on creating the perfect “Daisy Duke” worthy denim cut offs.  A great pair of denim cut off shorts say “summer” like nothing else can.  They’re great for a casual day by the pool or running errands and can be dressed up with sexy heels and a silky top for a balmy night out on the town.  It may be tempting to just plop down the plastic and splurge on designer denim, but why not make yourself a custom (and less expensive) DIY version instead?  It’s much easier than you may think and you won’t be caught wearing the same ol’ same as everyone else.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Recycle!  This is a perfect way to utilize your old jeans that are just taking up space in your closet.
  • DO NOT cut the legs off straight across (this will lead to a very “cheeky” situation).
  • Leave an extra inch of fabric.  You can always go shorter!
  • Be creative.  Let your imagination run wild!  There are tons of different ways to embellish your shorts.
  • If you don’t have time to run ‘em through the wash, use a zester and seam ripper to get the fringe going.

Setting the Mood: American as Apple Pie
Written by: WhyDid | Setting the Mood

god bless america I know I may complain a bit (who me?) and threaten to run off to the south of France from time to time, but the fact is, we do live in a truly great country.  We’re free to do what we please- whether that be speak our minds or watch as much Real Housewives as our brains can tolerate.  Clearly, seeing as there is an entire market dedicated to apparel smattered with our American flag, I am not alone in my love of the land of the free.    So, let’s try and remember why we’ve been awarded the freedoms that we have and wear our flags oh so proudly.

Why Did You Wear That: Put Me In, Coach

celebrity coachella fashionWith the arrival of summer comes the arrival of outdoor music festivals.  The first of which to kick things off is Coachella.  Coachella is not only one of the bigger music festivals, it’s one of the most photographed.  Let’s just say it’s a sartorialist’s wet dream.  The look is usually a bit boho meets Beverly Hills, but some have taken the hippy dippy look to extremes.  I can’t say I’ve ever had the desire to camp out for three days with no working plumbing, but if you happen to be someone who favors the port-o-potty over pate, then perhaps you’re headed out that way this weekend.  If that’s the case, you may be thinking, “What to wear?  What to wear?”  Well, I’ve come up with three looks that are sure to have you looking like you’re with the band.  (Just please do me a favor and keep your shoes on).
