Friday Frocks: Good LRD (Little Red Dress)

By |December 13th, 2013|Friday Frocks|

valentino redSince most people wouldn’t consider black and white really “colors” per se, I guess I would venture to call red my favorite color- along with ballet pink and sometimes a frosty violet.  That said, there is no better time of year to slip into a crimson creation and strut your stuff all over town… or at least every holiday party where your ex and his new (definitely not as cute or sophisticated as you) arm candy may potentially be this season.  We’ve all (hopefully) secured a LBD and perhaps even LWD, but now it’s time to kick things up a notch in a LRD.  From fire engine red to oxblood to shades of tomato, there is sure to be a LRD that will suit everyone whether porcelain blonde or exotic brunette.  Take your pick.

Look for Less: Wrap It Up

By |October 9th, 2011|Look for Less, Why Did You Wear That?|

A couple of weeks ago, a friend sent me a message asking if it was, in fact, too soon to break out the winter scarf.  Now, I’m a big fan of scarves, so my answer?  “It’s really never too soon for a scarf.”  Granted, you may look a little ridiculous when pairing a heavy winter weight scarf with a tank top and flip flops, but tucking a scarf in/on your bag for an evening out is always a great idea.  There’s been quite a few instances where I’ve been caught off guard by a sudden nip in the air and felt lucky that I had a sunggly scarf to wrap around me.  Now that it’s officially fall, scarves are fair game.  So, let’s see how some of Hollywood’s stylish startlets are sporting their scarves:

1. Bajra Ombre Wool Scarf, $159, 2. La Garconne No. 6 Blanket Boot, $390, 3. Levi’s Military Jacket, $64, 4. Wet Seal Fashionista Skinny Jean, $19.50

1. River Island Loose Knit Snood, $26.19, 2. Elie Tahari Vanessa Draped Jacket, $276, 3. bebe Cold Shoulder Bodycon Pencil Dress, $69, 4. Giuseppe Zanotti Snake Print T-Strap, $595

1. Amicale Griffin Cashmere-Silk Fringed Scarf, $53, 2. Hard Tail Slouchy T-shirt, $49, 3. Fossil Carson Flap Crossbody, $118, 4. Forever 21 Magnified Readers, $6.80, 5. Free People High Waist Flare Jeans, $108

Snug as a bug in a rug.

Why Did You Wear That: Don’t Fret, My Pets.

By |April 23rd, 2009|Celebrity Style, Why Did You Wear That?|

Oh, my loves. I didn’t forget about you yesterday. However, I apparently booked a one way ticket to Planet Suck and had no time to post any of my witty and brilliant banter for you to read while pretending to be productive at work.  No worries, I worked it out with my travel agent and am back to the real world.

Anyhow, because you may have felt neglected yesterday, here is a little mindless fodder for you.

Here’s a photo of Lindsay Lohan launching her legging line (6126) at Henri Bendel earlier this year.  Her hair looks like a throwback to Splash while her “leggings” look like she ran into Edward Scissor Hands on her way to the event.  Fun fact: did you know that Lindsay’s legging line has a pair called “Mr. President” with quilted knee pads? Classy. (more…)
