Maybe you aren’t the ballet flat type of gal, but your tired feet need a bit of a vacation from the daily torture and masochism of skyscraper stilettos. No longer for athletes and hip hop moguls alone, the designer sneaker is having a major moment right now. So rather than the dainty flats you’re used to, you can now slip into something more comfortable that is actually stylish (and they’re not Uggs). Girl Crush: Go Play a Video Game

In case you haven’t already been sucked in by her first single, Video Games, this sultry songstress is Lana del Rey. Though there is much speculation as to whether she is a product of her management and as to where exactly she came from (she was formerly known as Lizzy Grant)- one thing is for sure: girlfriend can sing. Her sound is like nothing else out there and her voice is utterly intoxicating. As if her vocal chops aren’t enough, she is strikingly gorgeous with doe eyes and voluptuous lips (also much speculation on those). Her self described style is “Gangster Nancy Sinatra.” She sports big hair and big accessories– and in this case, bigger is definitely better.

Girl Crush: Kiss Me Kate!

As we all wait with bated breath to see what the beautiful brunette Kate Middelton will wear when she walks down the aisle to wed William, let’s take a look back at a few of her fabulous outfits.

I mean, despite the obvious- she’s gorgeous- this princess in waiting has completely mastered polished and timeless attire. Knee high boots, tights, fitted frocks, and of course, quirky headwear are just a few of her staples.

While the girl knows how to dress the part, what I’m really impressed with the way she played her cards. If you’re under the impression that Kate and Wills just locked across eyes across the university cafeteria and the rest was history, you’re mistaken.

There was Jecca and Anna and Arabella. Oh my.

What did Kate do? Handled herself with class and dignity. She let William sew his wild oats while keeping her composure and proving that looking good is definitely the best revenge.

Why Did You Wear That: White for Your Right To Party

If you’d described this outfit to me without seeing it, I probably would have thought you’d been hitting up ye olde crackpipe again and would have had to stage an intervention. However, when I saw Cameron Diaz sporting her light white ensemble a couple of weeks ago, I thought she looked incredibly chic, not like a drug induced fashion victim.

I know what you’re thinking: All white? Isn’t that a nod to the Michelin Man? In most cases, I’d say, “Yes.” In this instance, it comes off more angelic modern than just moronic.

The best part? These pieces are things that you most likely already have in your closet. I had everything minus the U-Boat watch which I ~~borrowed~~ stole from my fiance. Remember to break up the white with your accessories otherwise you’ll be walking around like a baker or tampon (whichever). I went ahead and nixed Cam’s suspenders (let’s not be completely ridiculous) and added a Mr. T gold chain instead.

Girl Crush: Channeling Fran, the Flashy Girl from Flushing

As previously stated, I’m a big fan of “classic” (um, is the 90’s now classic?) television. One of my favorites is none other than The Nanny starring nasal voiced Fran Drescher. While on the show she is portrayed as a tacky Jewish girl from Queens, if you look at Fran’s wardrobe, she’s really a trendsetter. Don’t believe me? Let’s just take a gander at the spring trends she’s sporting in the photos above:

Stripes. Check.

Flatforms. Ugh… Check.

Not so tacky now, is she?
