Gift Guide: The Beauty of Giving

Okay, fine. She doesn’t quite seem to fit into any of the five gift giving categories from yesterday. Deep breaths, drama queen. I have a fairly easy fix, my friend. There are very few (although, astonishingly, there are some) women who would turn their perfectly powdered little noses up at the gift of beauty. Since the time we are old enough to sneak into mama’s rouge, we are mesmerized by makeup. The beauty industry caught onto this and made your life a whole heck of a lot easier because many of them have crafted up kits especially for the holiday season. But aside from the limited edition palettes, there are plenty of fun ways to gift your buddy with beauty.

Gift Guide: My Kinda Girl

Traditionally, I’ve divided up my gift guides by price point, but I decided to shake things up this year by organizing by personality. Now, there is no way on Earth anyone could possibly classify all women into five categories- unless that person was looking to face several million pissed off estrogen fueled females. However, I’ve chosen five pretty broad categories that should be fairly helpful when shopping for your friends, sisters, mothers, and significant others. Whether she loves all things shiny or her fingers can’t be pried from her smartphone, there’s something here for just about any woman. And since I’ve taken all of the grunt work out of your holiday shopping (you’re welcome), all you’ve got to do is figure out what kind of gal you’re shopping for. Gift Guide: Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner

Unless you are a terrible house guest (insert all too easy obvious relevant pop culture reference here), you will more than likely be invited to at least one holiday gathering- dinner party or otherwise. As anyone knows, Emily Post would encourage you not to turn up empty handed. While there is debate whether or not bringing good spirits, alcoholic and emotional, is enough, my personal opinion is that it’s always a welcome surprise to receive something other than a bottle of Chateau Diana that was picked up from Duane Reade or the deli on the way over. Setting the Mood: Happy Holla-Daze

While some of you were busy posing both literally and figuratively at Art Basel in Miami, I was busy dealing with personal crises and preparing this week’s posts chocked full of gift guides that will make your holiday shopping less painful than some of those exhibitions at Basel. Now that we’ve actually made it past Thanksgiving, it’s time to start thinking December 25th- not post Halloween like some of you overanxious overachievers thought. It’s no secret that Christmas music is like nails on the chalkboard to me, but I will appease my holly loving, twinkle light enthusiast, overly festive friends.
