Friday Frocks: I’m Just a Love Machine

Single or taken, Valentine’s Day conveniently falls on a Friday this year and so more likely than not, you will be leaving the confines of your cozy apartment to take on the town. So, you may as well get into the spirit of this force fed love fest. You don’t necessarily have to sausage yourself into a spandex red dress, although I’m sure those will be aplenty. Opt for something softer in shades of pink or go bold in a graphic print be it floral, hearts, or darling polka dots.

Friday Frocks: Back in Black

acdc6 Everyone knows you can’t go wrong with an LBD (Little Black Dress… duh), but even I know that sometimes black can get a little boring. Crisis averted, people. By adding a little drama to your LBD you may add some extra drama (the good kind) to you life.

Friday Frocks: Gold Diggers

I ain’t saying she’s a gold digger… Well, you know the rest. Something that caught my eye for Fall 2010 was the heavy use of gold and gold embellishment. One of my favorite shows of the season was Balmain. It was very gold heavy… I felt like I’d hit the jackpot. Speaking of jackpots, gold doesn’t necessarily have to be tacky (talking to you Atlantic City), it can be totally chic when done right. Why Did You Wear That: Everything’s Coming Up Roses

On a gorgeous NY day like today (82 degrees and about 536% humidity), I feel like we need a little brightening up of our wardrobes. One of the fastest ways to bring a little sunshine into your life is by dressing yourself in something floral. Flowers always make me think of warm weather, butterflies, and rainbows (okay, maybe not that much… but you get where I’m headed). In a world full of black and grey, why not be you very own ray of sunshine? Be sure to anchor your pretty pattern with solids. No need to overwhelm. Don’t want any weeds in your glorious garden.
