Beauty Buzz: Blushing Beauty
Written by: WhyDid | Beauty Buzz

peach cheeks spring 2012The runways were taken over with peachy perfect complexions for Spring 2012.  Everyone from Michael Kors to Preen sent their lovely ladies down the catwalk with cheeks juicier than Georgia peaches.  That means that peachy cheeks are certain to be on trend this spring.  Does that mean I have to ditch my beloved Benetint?  (Um, never).  But in the off chance that I wanted to trade in my typical flushed cheeks for something a bit softer, I went out and purchased Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Blissful.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Blissful, $25

The color is true to the packaging and is also totally buildable,  So, does it last twelve hours?  Meh… not so much.  You  may need a 3 o’clock touch up (kinda like that 3 o’clock coffee break) to revive the color, but I would absolutely recommend this nutrient rich, perfect shade of peach to capitalize on one of this spring’s prettiest makeup trends.

Why Did You Wear That: Mr. Brightside

highlighted book

One way to get through the grey winter is to add some pops of bright to your typical all black uniform.  Everywhere you look from blazers to brassieres, it’s fluorescent.  You name it, it’s neon.  If you’re more the subtle type, accessorize with a neon belt or bright watch.  Feeling a bit more bold?  Colorblock with different shades of highlighter hues.

Why Did You Wear That: In the Buff

2000_Bring_It_On_101

Ever had one of those dreams where you are just wandering around totally naked and wake up in complete panic a la Kiki Dunst in Bring It On?

Well, I’m about to make those dreams come true… in a good way. If you recall, I was wild about the amount of nudes and neutrals that flooded the spring runways. Now that the heat is here and you’ve established your base tan (with use of a good self tanner, I hope!), it’s your turn to test out this trend.  When working with a blank palette, you can perk things up by accessorizing with punches of color whether it be showcasing a stunning pair of shoes or killer jewelry.

I’ve again done my due dilligence by digging up some of the sexiest ways to wear this season’s most naked trend:

PREEN_BANDDRESSNUDE_MAIN Preen Nude Band Dress, $360

everEver Catania Dress, $178

haute

Haute Hippie Love Tank Dress, $95

topshop

Top Shop One Shoulder Ruched Dress, $90

bebe

Bebe Cotton Eyelet Strapless Dress, $44.95

serve.aspAmerican Apparel Cotton Spandex Jersey Double U-neck Dress, $36

Someone who did this trend early and knocked it out of the park was Kate Bosworth:

And how I wore mine (pretty ballsy to post myself after Kate, I know):

(for the record, my shoes were pretty sexual – though you cannot see them in this pic- and they may or may not have incoropated feathers).

As always, undergarments are essential. You don’t want your hot pink Hanky Panky’s peeking through seeing as the whole point is to be neutral. Now, strip down.
