Why Did You Wear That: This Week’s Top 5 Looks

I struggled a bit this week trying to round up the best of the best in Hollywood. Probably has a lot to do with the overwhelming trend of black lace LBD’s. Everyone from Taylor Swift to Kylie Minogue was spotted in one. So, I finally found five lovely ladies deserving of this week’s best dressed list.

Carrie Underwood in Jenny Packham for the CMA Artists of the Year Celebration. I wasn’t surprised I liked this look as soon as I saw it was Jenny Packham.
Blake Lively at Footwear News Achievement Awards wearing Prabal Gurung and Christian Louboutin shoes (of course). Does she ever look bad?
Reese Witherspoon in a Dolce & Gabbana dress and Jimmy Choo shoes while revealing her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Looking as American as apple pie.
Fergie wearing a hot pink D&G blazer and Helmut Lang leather pants at the launch of Avon Voices. Hey, at least her outfit is better behaved than her husband…
Most improved award goes to Katy Perry wearing Georges Chakra with Brian Atwood heels at the Grammy Nominations Concert. Yay! Katie is wearing her grown up outfit!

Friday Frocks: Swan Song

This may be one of my favorite Friday Frocks to date. I have a personal obsession with all things ballet related seeing as I was two pom-poms away from trading in college career for a blistered toed career of ballet (there’s a reason I love Center Stage). Needless to say, I can’t wait to see this movie (I’m aware it’s no Nutcracker). So if you are looking to channel your inner inner prima ballerina, try on these frilly frocks. I don’t recommend losing the 20+ pounds that Mila and Natalie lost for the film, but slipping into something dainty will certainly have you feeling like doing pirouettes in your Loubous.

Why Did You Wear That: Slave 4 Fashion

I mean I hate to kick a horse while she’s down… especially right after her birthday… but a crime against fashion is a crime against fashion. It’s no secret that I’ve never been a huge Brit Brit fan, but I was rooting for her comeback as much as the next girl. I, along with Elin Woods, understand the rage she felt when slamming into that car with an umbrella.

So, it pains me to see that her comeback was only a fleeting moment in time and she has resorted back to looking like this:

Oh, Brit. Where shall I begin? It seems like an oxymoron to have a shirt buttoned up to your chin while wearing shorts that the pockets are hanging out of. And… are those… BEDAZZLED UGGS? Ugh, is right. What do you get the girl who has everything this year for Christmas? Hopefully, a stylist.

Why Did You Wear That: Natalie Portman

Explain to me why a girl who is so young and so pretty insists on dressing like an out of work librarian? I get it. She’s not one of those Hollywood party girls. She’s smart- and I respect that, but that’s no reason to look double, or even triple her age. Recently, photos of her wearing only a thong were leaked on the internet. I have to say, it was the best I’ve ever seen her look.
