So, it is now December. I can hardly believe it. This year has flown by!

Anyway, this means that you are starting (or if you’re an overachiever, have already started/finished) planning for your New Year’s Eve soiree. Obviously, my favorite part of any holiday, or party, or basically any occassion to dress up, is getting totally decked out. So whether you’ll be in NYC, South Beach, or jet-setting off to St. Bart’s, I’ve come up with some festive dress ideas for your very special evening. Careful with the champagne…

Oh, New York. I have spent a few New Year’s here, myself.  While New Yorkers tend to be elegantly understated, it is still fun to sparkle and stand out. (Trust me, I was once the only one in the room in a cocktail dress, loved it). Go with a little bit of subtle glam and comfortable (but still cute) shoes because after all, this is the city that never sleeps!

Miami New Year’s Eve parties are basically New York New Year’s Eve parties except with more color, better weather, and a lot of bad hair nights. (My suggestion for you ladies with unruly locks, pull your hair back. You’ll thank me when you are sober enough to look at your pictures the next morning/afternoon).

St. Bart’s is pure indulgence and a lot of fun. This time of year, the quaint little village is full or people ready to party. While most tend to opt for white, why not stand out and go for a pale flowing frock? Either way get ready to see and be seen. Better look your best!

Nili Lotan Wendy dress, $415. Available at

I can’t say I’ve ever spent New Year’s in Sin City, but I have been to Vegas, so I can only imagine what it’s like on December 31st. This is no place to be a wallflower. Anything goes, take advantage of that and have a little fun. Just make sure to take an advil before bed.

Now, I’m not going to lie. Chances of catching me skiing for New Year’s is slim, but I do realize some of you sexy ski bunnies will be hitting the slopes for the holiday. Sure, it’ll be chilly, but that is no reason why you shouldn’t be sizzling. And have a cup of hot chocolate for me!
