How To Tuesday: Lots of Layers
Written by: WhyDid YouWearThat | How To Tuesday,Vlog

This week is the perfect time to learn “How To” layer properly. When the weather is going crazy (hot, cold, hot, cold… make up your mind!), having all the right layers is crucial to keeping your cool.

The key is to have several layers that are all suitable for different climates and times of the day. You may start out chilly in the morning, but be roasting by lunch… and freezing yet again when the sun goes down. You also need to make sure that your layers are thin in order to avoid to looking overly bulky. Layering is really as simple as 1, 2, 3…4.

Bundle up til next time…

How To Tuesday: Pack Your Bags
Written by: WhyDid YouWearThat | How To Tuesday,Vlog

Alright, alright… I know… Somehow every week turned into once an Ice Age. But alas, my friends, we are back and here is yet another life changing How To Tuesday. You voted several weeks ago and here is the “how to” on packing a bag:

So, basically- my biggest tip is to not overstuff. Yes, I may have put a couple extra trinkets in for fun (told you I love props), but try not to put so much in your bag that you A) damage it, B) look like a sherpa. Only the essentials, people.

So it’s that time again (and I promise not to disappear for 89 weeks straight). What will next week’s video be? Vote!

Construction-Workers--15845

Remember when I said WhyDid was getting a makeover?

Well, like all good things (wine, epic love stories, your vocabulary, etc) these things take time. I’m happy to let you know… you’re 89 posts closer to seeing a whole new WhyDid. Lots of things have happened in the past six months. One being a switch from the East Coast to the Left Coast. (Been an interesting transition… but more on that later). We’ve seen some WhyDid pals come and go. When WhyDid hits 500 posts, we’ll be making the switch, so keep your eyes peeled and let the countdown begin…

Written by: WhyDid YouWearThat | Beauty Buzz,How To Tuesday,Vlog

Last week, you voted on what you’d like to learn “how to.” So, this week, I’ll be teaching you “how to” do an at home facial. Facials are a great way to keep skin healthy, but going to a spa every month can certainly add up. That’s why finding ingredients that you have lying around at home is a great and inexpensive alternative.

Step 1:

Cleanse Skin. You want to start with a clean palate. Get all the daily gunk off your face before we begin.

Step 2:

Facial Scrub

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sweet almond oil
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp ground oatmeal
  • 1 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight jar for further use. Scrub face with mixture 2-3 minutes, rinse, and pat dry

Step 3:

Steam. Fill up your sink with hot water. Place a washcloth in the water and then press against your face. Repeat several times. Careful not to scorch those pretty little fingers.

Step 4:

Facial Mask

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp powdered brewer’s yeast
  • 1/2 tbsp plain yogurt
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp orange juice
  • 1 tsp carrot juice
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Instructions

Combine all ingredients and apply to face and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse and pat dry.

  1. .
Now that your face is fresh and lovely, take a minute to vote for next week’s How To Tuesday.
