Last week, there was an overwhelming response to the fishtail braid. It won WhyDid’s poll by a landslide! I wonder if it had anything to do with Serena sporting this style on Gossip Girl… Anyway, I’m a girl who loves braids, so any new way to update the classic- I’m in. This style looks a lot trickier than it is. I had no idea how to do it until I went to the experts at Neihule Salon to learn all the tricks.
The fishtail braid is meant to be a messier, edgier braid. It works best on dirty or “second day” hair, so if you have fine or clean hair, give it some texture with hairspray or dry shampoo before braiding. When finished with the braid, tease the end and then pull the braid to loosen it. Who’s cuter than you?
If you still need help braiding or are in need of some serious pampering, head over to my friends at Neihule Salon.
