Beauty Buzz: A Hair Raising Experience

bad-hair-day

I’ve gotten a little poll crazy today (and no, not POLE crazy like the girls of Scores). It seems the ladies of tinseltown have gone a little lock crazy changing their hair color, chopping off length, and well, just looking a little crazy. Behold…

UGH. Katherine Heigl. What the eff? What happened? Something bad? Normally she has such luscious locks but, this looks more like Cabbage Patch Hair! In this photo, she looks unrecognizable to me.

After recently celebrating a birthday, newlywed Hilary Duff is photographed here leaving the hair salon and sporting a new hue. Personally? I love it. I think it’s a really flattering color on her. Lookin’ good, Duff.

Here’s Harry Potter’s Emma Watson making her way to class at Brown sporting some noticeably shorter hair. Um… K. Stew, I don’t think you have anything to worry about. Her hair is even shorter than R. Patz’s.

Why Did You Wear That: Twice as Nice

I don’t always need to bitch. I was pleasantly surprised to see these two beauties hanging out at the 40th Anniv party for Roberto Cavalli. I mean, could they be any cuter? Probs not.

Why Did You Wear That: Fair Well, My Friend.

So, here’s your mini history lesson for the day, fair isle is a knitting technique used to create patterns using different colors. The technique is named after a small island off the coast of Scotland and became popular after the Prince of Wales sported the knitted vests all the way back in 1921. See? So much smarter and you’re only two sentences in!

I remember sitting in a design meeting two years ago discussing fairisle… so I’m happy to see that it eventually caught on to the masses. While this style probably used to remind you of your grandmother, it is so far from frumpy.

Would You Wednesday: Christina Aguilera

I’m not sure you guys are aware of how strongly I feel about Christina Aguilera, so you should know how much this pains me (and make totally clear that I’m completely unbiased when it comes to bad fashion). Here is the lovely songstress a few days back and she looks… well… um…

Dirrty? I’m a firm believer that if you’re going to do the whole “platinum” tresses, you must steer clear of the clementine skin tone. This looks more Miss Piggy and less Marilyn Monroe. And what’s going on around your eyes, you little blonde raccoon? Did you fall asleep with your sunnies on? Ugh…

Rules of Engagement

By |September 28th, 2010|Uncategorized|

wedding-proposal-photographySo many wonderful people I know have been getting engaged. Though I have yet to experience that moment of bliss, I can only imagine it’s a truly sacred once in a lifetime feeling. That being said, while discussing said time of puffy clouds, sparkles, and marshmallows with my beloved, I made him pinky swear that we would not partake in one particular betrothed tradition… engagement photos.  Some of you may be cocking your head sideways and wondering why I’m being such a Scrooge about something that sounds so seemingly fun… Well, I have gathered quite a bit of evidence as to why I’m not going to go ahead and jump off the Kodak moment bandwagon.

My evidence has been categorized into three separate categories. Please behold, Exhibit A- The Not So Great Outdoors:
