Reader Appreciation Day

By |January 30th, 2009|Uncategorized|

Why Did You Wear That is still in its beginning stages, but I want to thank those of you who actually do read this. It means a lot (and also makes me feel better that there are other bitchy people out there).

So to show you my gratitude, I am posting a couple of photos that were sent in to me by some very observant readers.  These photos are brilliant and I’m impressed with their keen eyes.  Please, PLEASE keep up the good work! Enjoy!!

Why Did You Wear That: Only YOU Can Prevent Ugly Clothes!

By |January 29th, 2009|Why Did You Wear That?|

I understand that some people think it might be nasty to make fun of what people are wearing, but I feel that I’m providing a public service not making fun of people.

I would never make fun of someone for something that they can not help (i.e., disability, deformity, body type).  However, wearing ugly clothes is a choice.  Nobody made you put those leggings on as pants today, did they? Didn’t think so.  It’s like littering.  If you littered, I would make fun of you too(because that’s lame and you’re lazy). Littering is a choice- just like wearing mom jeans is a choice.

In fact, I think I should be applauded rather than scolded.  Just like environmentalists who pick up litter and try to keep our planet beautiful, I also am making the world a more beautiful place- one outfit at time.

Remember Smokey the Bear? “Only you can prevent forest fires!”  Well, I say to you, “Only you can prevent ugly clothes!”

Beauty Buzz: Feeling Glossy

By |January 28th, 2009|Beauty Buzz|

My hair has never been shinier and that is all thanks to having a gloss (or glaze) put on my hair.  My hairdresser had suggested it before, but I figured it was just a way to tack on another $50 to my bill.  Well, technically it is, especially when you can now do the same treatment at home at a fraction of the price.

A gloss essentially is a shiny seal over your hair follicle that helps your color stay longer, your hair look shinier, and fends off excessive damage from styling. You can use it every time you wash your hair or once a week as a deep conditioning treatment.

Here is a great one by Frederic Fekkai. At $28 it’s a little steep, but totally worth it.  John Frieda also makes a gloss and it does the same thing for $7.89. That’s a steal!

Red Carpet Recap: SAG Awards Red Carpet 2009

By |January 28th, 2009|Celebrity Style, Red Carpet Recap|

Forget the awards, let’s get to the stuff people REALLY care about… the clothes!!!

I hate when critics are too kind to celebrities just because they like them. I get it, she’s America’s sweetheart- blah, blah, blah- but that’s no reason not to tell her her dress is ugly. That’s like not telling your best friend she has spinach in her teeth! Don’t worry, I promise to hold nothing back.

So let’s start off on a good note:

And the Winner Is…

By |January 26th, 2009|Uncategorized|

Tina Fey and her acclaimed show,  30 Rock, had their arms full last night. They took home several awards, but one that Tina should have one and didn’t was “Least Flattering Dress.”

I realize that Tina Fey is no Pamela Anderson, but that is no reason why she shouldn’t be able to look sexy and glamorous on awards night.  I mean, she’s got to know by now that she is going to make it up onto that stage, might as well give us something worth looking at.

The SAG awards are a bit more casual than the other awards shows, but still, her dress last night made my skin itch. I couldn’t even listen to her speech because I was too busy staring at her ta-ta’s (and not for a good reason).  The dress she wore was so ill fitted to her shape that it actually made her boobs look even smaller than they are. Again, I am a fan of the small chested woman as long as she knows what to do with her bug bites. I’m not sure this picture will do the atrocity of a dress any justice, but hopefully you will be able to see what I mean:
